We can't believe it, but Nicole turned 1 today!!! It seems like just yesterday that we had just welcomed her into our family. Here are some pictures from her birthday:
She was having fun playing with the ice cream....I promise.

Always Celebrating
In looking at some of our past posts, it looks like all that we ever do is celebrate! So, in keeping with the trend, here is another celebration! On September 11, Nick turned 25 (or halfway to 50) and we celebrated with a small family BBQ after church. Here are some pictures of our day.
Okay, I know if you are still reading this blog, you are looking for the pictures of Nicole being herself. Well, here they are! Since we have started feeding Nicole homemade baby food, meal times have gotten to be a little messy........okay VERY VERY messy!! She isn't a huge fan of carrots yet, but seems to like green beans so far. She usually has to hold a spoon and sometimes puts a spoon and her fingers in her mouth at the same time.
Here's what happens when Nicole sneezes while eating her carrots (at least that explains the carrots by her eye).
Nick with his birthday cupcakes.....Yes, the candle is of Spiderman.
Nick with his birthday gifts.
Gift from Hannah
Baby backpack from Nicole
Nick used some of his Home Depot cards to buy tools for work.

Nicole is on her soapbox.....hahaha
Here is a video of Nicole eating.
Finally, here is a picture of Nick training for the mud run that he will be running this coming Saturday in Lake Elsinore! I can't wait to post pictures after that race!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!
So on Monday of this week we celebrated my 21st (okay 26th) birthday with family at Red Robin (my all-time favorite restaurant!).
On September 1, Nicole had her first meal of rice cereal. She LOVED it!

A Weekend To Celebrate!
This weekend gave us many reasons to celebrate with our family. First, it was Nick's grandpa's birthday party on Saturday (his birthday is tomorrow). We celebrated with his family with dinner and cake.
Then on Sunday we went to Doug and Karissa's wedding in Brea. The wedding was beautiful and so much fun! They had the park decorated beautifully and had fun things that made their wedding unique. By one of the trees, they had several frames (just the wood, no glass or backing) with handles screwed on the back. People could take pictures of themselves or as groups using the frames. I also must take a minute to brag about the cakes. They were AMAZING!!! I think they were the best cakes I have had at a wedding (oh wait, I might be a little biased......)! Here are some pictures from the wedding.
Nicole had no intention of sitting quietly through the ceremony. She was sneezing, blowing bubbles, spitting on Hannah, pulling my mom's hair. It was really pretty funny.

We are so very blessed to have family close by so that we can join in on special occasions and make memories together! What a blessing family is!
